Bob Carey Grieve - Chairman
Originally from Glasgow in Scotland, Bob started his career in the international artist collaboration Henry VIII’s Wives before moving into Arts Therapy where he delivered arts workshops in such diverse healthcare settings as Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Medicine for the Elderly and Criminal Forensics.
When he moved to Australia with his family, the work branched into numerous Community Development roles. He’s been working in CD: Community Centre Management role for ten years now in Point Cook, but as a Ballan Local he still finds time to collaborate on arts projects across a range of media.
In 2016, Bob had two strokes, and cancer two years later. He’s since become a Stroke Foundation Ambassador. You’ll often see him running around town training for regular marathons to raise funds for stroke and cancer charities, so make sure you give him a wave as you pass!
Bob is married with two children and a cat who you will see regularly on Bobs Facebook posts!!

Diversity is key!
Jane joined the board of the Ballan Neighborhood House, thanks to her deep love of community and her ongoing desire to support and strengthen wellbeing and connection in us all.

I am a country girl at heart. Born in Northern Victoria, I was dropped into Werribee in the 1970’s. The experience of the Western suburbs has never left me. I am extremely grateful that fate allowed me the opportunity to experience the immense societal and cultural changes that impacted Australia during the 1970’s..
I returned to a rural setting in 1985. Myrniong has been my home, both spiritually and physically.
My paid career has been within the library and information sector since 1982. I LOVE LIBRARIES!.
Rebuilding a sense of worth, value and purpose enabled me to apply for a role with the Moorabool Shire Libraries.
My belief in the value of libraries was renewed!
Public libraries are the ‘ great levelers’ for society. The intrinsic value of a 'space for all' is more important than ever.
I thrive upon the opportunity to provide a personal connection for others. Here too, is the value of Neighbourhood Houses.
Building connections with communities, skills development and recreational opportunities are vital.
Public Libraries and Neighbourhood houses are kindred spirits.
I hope I can assist in keeping the spirit of ‘Community learning’ alive and valid as I represent Ballan Neighbourhood House as a board member.
I am a founding member of Ballan and District Branch of the Country Women’s Association Vic. Inc. and I was also a member of the 'working group' which first established this Community aka Neighbourhood House.
